Homemade Baking Soda Shampoo Saved My Hair
Most of the people use regular shampoos to wash their hair and they also use other products to smooth, straighten, and treat their hair, but at the end of the day their hair is still lifeless. The problem is that all these shampoos and other hair products contain chemicals which may ruin your hair. This is not the case with the homemade products which are based on natural ingredients. Here I present a recipe which I saw on the internet and which helped me to return the life in my hair. I was skeptical at first, but even after the first treatment I noticed the positive effects and I went on using it. Now I warmly recommend it. Do not hesitate to try it as it will make your hair silky and smooth.
You may find it hard to wash your hair without the foam you are used to, but at the end you will love this shampoo.
Baking Soda Shampoo
First mix one part baking soda with three parts water. For my hair, which is middle length I use 4 tablespoons of baking soda mixed with three times that amount water, which is around 12 tablespoons water. You can put the ingredients in an old shampoo bottle, or any other squeeze bottle. For a shoulder length hair it will be around 3 tablespoons of soda mixed with 9 tablespoons of water, and so on, depending on your hair length.
Apply this mixture to your hair (it can be either wet or dry), and let it sit for around 3 minutes. You should apply the mixture starting from the roots to the ends. Then rinse it with warm water. After this process you should rinse your hair with vinegar.
Mix one part of apple cider vinegar (you can use white vinegar as well, but apple cider vinegar has better effects) with four part of water. To minimize then sharp smell, you can add some essential oils. I use a lavender one, but you can add whatever smell you prefer, and you can even experiment by mixing several essential oils. It is best if you prepare a bigger amount of this mixture and put it in an old bottle and use it whenever you need it. It is best to close your eyes while applying the vinegar mixture to your hair, and it will also help if you tilt your head back. You can also tilt your head forward if your hair is longer. After a minute wash your hair with cold water. It will close the pores on your scalp and it will also smooth the hair and give it shine.
I started doing this a month ago and the benefits are that my straight hair is even straighter and it is smoother than before. The split ends started to disappear as well.
