Every one of us have some level of control over our own health.
Don’t skip breakfast
Some people skip breakfast because they think it will help them lose weight. In fact, research shows that eating breakfast can help people control their weigh. A healthy breakfast is an important part of a balanced diet, and provides some of the vitamins and minerals we need for good health. Skipping breakfast can also influence the food choice we make throughout the day.
If you don’t smoke – don’t start, if you do smoke- try to quit. Smoking is responsible for several diseases, such a cancer, long-term respiratory diseases, and heart diseases. As well smoking is the largest cause of preventable death in the world. Recent studies have found that smokers can undermine the health of non-smokers in some environments.
Limit how much alcohol you drink
This means no more than 2 drinks a day for men and 1 drink a day for women. Too much alcohol can damage the liver and contribute to some cancers, such as throat and liver cancer. Alcohol also contributes to deaths from car wrecks, murders and suicides.
Exercise can help prevent heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, osteoporosis and depression. It can also help prevent colon cancer, stroke and back injury. Whatever your age, there are strong scientific evidence that being physically active can help you lead a healthier and happier life.
Even by doing just 1 of these things, you will improve your health and reduce your risk of heart disease, cancer and stroke.
